How predictions work

Last reviewed:

Pick a final score for every match before kick-off. Friends do the same. Points decide the leaderboard.

Pick a score

For every World Cup 2026 fixture, choose the exact final score you expect after the regular 90 minutes. You can edit your pick as many times as you like, right up until the lock deadline.

Predictions lock 15 minutes before kick-off

Fifteen minutes before the match starts, the prediction window closes for that fixture. After that:

  • No edits, no late submissions. Not even for the Finto team.
  • Everyone in your group can see what each member predicted.
  • The lock runs on server time, so a wrong device clock can't bypass it.

Scoring

  • 3 points for the exact score.
  • 1 point for the correct outcome — home win, draw, or away win — but the wrong score.
  • 0 points when the outcome is wrong.

Same scoring everywhere. Your prediction counts for the global leaderboard and every group you're in.

Only 90 minutes counts

Scoring uses the regular-time (90-minute) result. Extra time and penalties don't count toward your prediction, even in knockout matches. So a 1–1 draw that goes to penalties is a 1–1 draw for Finto scoring, regardless of who lifts the trophy on the night.

Voided matches

If a match is abandoned and not replayed, predictions for it score nothing and the match is skipped in any tie-breakers.

No money, no betting, no prizes

Finto is a free, social prediction game. There are no entry fees, no prize pools, no payouts, no odds, and no wagering of any kind. Points decide the leaderboard. That's the prize.
